Raised on a farm full of animals and birds, Dr. Kasturi Bhadsavle a Diplomate of the International Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology (IBVO), knew early on that veterinary medicine was her calling. She completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2004 and a Master’s degree in Veterinary Surgery in 2006 from Bombay Veterinary College. Her master’s research focused on cataract surgery in dogs—an area that sparked her lifelong dedication to veterinary ophthalmology at a time when the specialty was still emerging in India.

To deepen her expertise, Dr. Bhadsavle pursued advanced externships and clinical training with leading veterinary ophthalmologists in Israel, the United States, and Australia. In 2009, she moved to Australia, where she practiced veterinary medicine and later established a dedicated ophthalmology consultation service in Melbourne.
Driven by a clear vision to advance specialised eye care for animals in India, Dr. Bhadsavle returned home in 2017. In 2019, she founded The Eye Vet Clinics, India’s first exclusive veterinary ophthalmology specialty practice. Today, The Eye Vet has expanded across Mumbai, Pune, Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Dubai, offering world-class ophthalmic care across species and serving as structured residency training centres aligned with international standards.

Dr. Kasturi is also a passionate educator, delivering national and international lectures and conducting regular workshops for clinicians and veterinary students—committed to shaping the future of veterinary ophthalmology in India and beyond.
